The language I have chosen to alternate between on my site is called Kriolu. It is one of the recognized languages in Cape Verde. Growing up I knew I was Cape Verdean and once others found out through the series of “but what are you really mixed with” Q&A session it became who I was without me fully knowing what that meant. I am not fluent in Portuguese. I am not fluent in Kriolu. I am fluent in expression, representation, and self-discovery. From that emerges art. Odja Art.“

Odja Translates to “see” in Kriolu, the main language of Cabo Verde. That is the mission of Odja LLC. To create visuals for all to see. Whether seeing in the conventional sense or seeing through visualization, the purpose of Odja is to always stimulate the imagination.
